A Day at MAD Fitness in London

There’s something about starting your day with intention—and sweat. I booked a 7:30 AM full-body conditioning class at MAD Fitness London, one of the city’s top boutique studios known for its strength-forward, no-fluff programming. Located in the heart of East London, MAD doesn’t just offer a workout—it delivers a full-on experience.

The space is minimalist but vibey, with concrete floors, killer playlists, and zero mirrors (a welcome break from hyper-aesthetic gyms). The class combined dumbbell circuits, explosive cardio intervals, and core-focused finishers, all coached with precision and encouragement. My arms were trembling by the second set—and I loved it.

The Come-Down: Matcha & Mental Reset

After class, I wandered over to Blank Street Coffee for a matcha latte and a breather. It’s around the corner from MAD and gives off the perfect “cool-down but make it chic” energy. While sipping, I did a few gratitude journaling notes and started planning my night out.

A good workout like that sets the tone for the whole day: focused, capable, and totally okay with indulging later.

Why MAD Works for Me

What stood out about MAD is the way it makes you feel strong—not just sweaty. I’ve been doing a lot of Lagree lately (reformer-style strength + stability), and MAD added that extra edge of grit and powerlifting without being intimidating.

According to Verywell Fit, workouts that blend functional training with intensity can help build strength that translates into everyday energy—whether you’re lifting, dancing, or walking home from the pub.

From Burpees to Brick Lane Bars

That night, I met friends in Shoreditch for drinks. Did I skip the tequila? Nope. Did I feel strong, grounded, and in tune with my body all day? Absolutely.

This is what my London wellness routine looks like: sweaty mornings, espresso-infused afternoons, and electric nights out. The balance isn’t perfect—but it’s real.
